About this project
These lessons were developed to facilitate constructivist learning. Students will solve problems individually and in groups to gain understaning of content and practice language. Specifically these lessons were created for 4-6th ESL elementary classrooms. For more explanation on the design philosophy kindly see the pdf attached to the right.

Research Objectives
- How do elementary ESL students respond to complex learning tasks?
- How do elementary ESL students respond to ill-structured learning environments.
- What is the effectiveness of text and video content presented on the internet?
- How do elementary ESL students interact with new language in an internet environment?
- What design modifications could be made to facilitate student engagement with content?
Initial Design Reflection
- Stage one was not built to adapt to students choices, clicks were not tracked and the software does not adapt to student interaction.
- Stage two content was more complex than I anticipated recommended calorie intake and macros balance is highly individual, so planning a balanced meal for all students is very difficult. The problem solution is not well defined.
- Stage two, I anticipate difficulty in student interaction with the website or app My Fitness Pal, training students to use the technology will be important, but is not currently facilitated.
- Stage three, had difficulty finding a good case or story to match the student's language level and content understanding. In practice, a larger case library would improve the educational outcome.
